movieguy Posted May 31, 2005 Report Share Posted May 31, 2005 Suspect Nabbed After Appearing in Reality Show Last Thursday's championship fight on the reality show The Contender may have been a nail-biter, but for two Rhode Island police detectives, what they saw in the audience was more riveting than the fight itself. The detectives glimpsed Paul N. Iannuzzi, 35, who stands accused of taking explicit photographs of a minor, state police Lt. Steven Lefebvre said. Iannuzzi was arrested last month, but was free pending his arraignment in Superior Court. Out-of-state travel is typically restricted for suspects who are free on bail. Iannuzzi did not have court permission to travel to Las Vegas to see Peter Manfredo Jr. fight for the $1-million prize, so officers picked him up at his home, Lefebvre said. The state police charged him with resisting arrest, simple assault, and destroying state property. He became combative and struggled while officers handcuffed him, and kicked a dent in the door of a police cruiser, Lefebvre said.
