movieguy Posted January 30, 2006 Report Share Posted January 30, 2006 Vegetable-Beef Burgers - serves 6 Meat Mixture 1 pound very lean ground sirloin 1 small tomato, finelly chopped 1 medium onion, chopped 1 small green bell pepper,finely chopped 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Vegetable oil spray Accompaniments 6 whole-wheat hamburger buns 1 large tomato, sliced 6 lettuce leaves Mustard to taste Ketchup to taste Combine ground beef, tomato, onion, green pepper, freshly ground pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well. Divide mixture into six portions and shape each into a patty about 1/2 inch thick. Spray a heavy, nonstick skillet with vegetable oil spray and heat over medium-high heat. Add beef patties and cook 5 to 7 minutes on each side, or until done as desired. Handle meat patties very carefully to prevent breaking. Place cooked patties on paper towels and blot to absorb fat.
