It was one of three major Web acquisitions announced by Logo. The network also purchased afterellen.com and afterelton.com, both owned by Erosion Media.

"Bringing relevant brands and creative voices like these into our company is at the heart of our digital strategy," said Judy McGrath, Chairman and CEO, MTV Networks. "I'm very happy to have them join our family as we continue to expand our online universe of music, gaming, entertainment, interactivity and news."

The purchases position Logo to be America's largest internet provider of LGBT information on the internet.

"By joining Logo 365Gay.com will continue to grow ensuring it remains America's number one LGBT choice for news and information," said founder and publisher Rob Sands who will remain as a consultant.

The 365Gay.com/Logo deal also compliments CBS News on Logo.

"In addition 365Gay.com readers will now get access to Logo's landmark entertainment content," said Sands.

“The addition of these best in breed sites continues to cement Logo’s role as the leading LGBT entertainment source in the living room, at an Internet café on the other side of the world, and everywhere in between,” said Lisa Sherman, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Logo.

365Gay.com began in 1999 and quickly grew to the be leading gay news source on the internet. With its around-the-clock updates it has been called "the CNN of LGBT news."

The acquisition of Erosion Media, which also includes fakegaynews.com will marry LOGOonline.com’s authentic content and largest LGBT-themed online video library with the nation’s top online LGBT entertainment news site.

Erosion co-founder Sarah Warn will become an executive producer at Logo.
